Human-Computer Interaction at Princeton

We design, build, and study technologies that help people connect and collaborate in new ways.

Andrés Monroy-Hernández will join the Computer Science faculty in the Fall of 2021 to direct the HCI group at Princeton. He is recruiting Ph.D. students and a postdoc interested in social computing systems research.

One of our upcoming research initiatives will focus on the Future of Work, exploring questions such as:

  • How can we develop community-owned alternatives to existing “gig economy” platforms?
  • What new models for distributed governance are needed to create more equitable and fair platforms?
  • How can more stakeholders of these platforms have a more active role in determining how their underlying AI operates?
  • How can new technologies, such as mixed reality, might enable new forms of work?

Please go to the Princeton Computer Science website for more information about the admissions process. For any other questions, please contact andresmh@cs.princeton.edu.
